Children’s Hospital has made a commitment to incorporating art as part of its therapeutic environment. I am fortunate to have been invited to install permanent art in the hospital, most recently in the Emergency Room.

The mural, Boston Waterfront, is 9 feet tall and 12 feet long, going around a corner of a corridor on the 2nd floor. It was made by scanning 3 originals which are 3 feet tall by 18 inches wide, then piecing the images together and enlarging them to mural size.

When I am making art for Children’s Hospital, it is so fun to hide lots of surprises in the collage for young eyes. For example, this mural has a little dog flying through the sky!
